Synopsis

Silas Marner earns his life as a weaver in the village of Saint Martin. Eppie, a six-year-old girl, loves Silas as the father she never had, abandoned at birth. Following a night of wine and vice, the baron Godefroy met Melanie and seduced her. After a brief encounter, Eppie was born. Since then, Godefroy is so tormented by guilt that six years later, he secretly marries Melanie, but refuses to introduce her to his family.
